Who Am I?

Who Am I? is a picture book that features positive affirmations for kids to start their day off with.
The process

Storyboards
With the completed manuscript already in-hand, I started drafting storyboards for each page. Initially, the author’s idea for the illustrations was to feature a diverse group of children - each one pictured with an animal that represented one of the Fruits of the Spirit. After a few rounds of sketches, the author ultimately decided to remove the animal element and requested to have the children interact with each other instead.
Adding Color
During our first pass of color, I set up multiple layers to keep elements separated and easier to make individual adjustments to. This decision made all of our color corrections and revisions much more efficient, which ultimately kept the project running on-schedule.

Page Design
I created two versions of the page design for the author to review - one with the manuscript integrated into the illustrations, and one that laid out the manuscript on facing pages. Even though we ended up moving forward with the latter option to maximize the book’s page count, the author was appreciative of having multiple options to consider.
That's a Wrap!
Who Am I? is now available for purchase on Barnes & Noble and Amazon. This is easily my favorite project that I’ve worked on for Trilogy and I truly hope that it inspires and enlightens kids and parents alike!
